Devise a system to keep training records up to date and ensure private security guards are competent and comfortable in undertaking the core functions of their job.

Consider having a mentor for the private security guard, who knows what the private security guard’s key duties are and is able to guide them in the right way and standard of doing it. This would be an informal type of training, but the more experienced private security guard would still be providing guidance and support to key aspects of the job.
